Understanding Percentiles
Percentile lines show how your child's measurements compare to other children of the same age and sex.
For example, if your child is on the 50th percentile for height, they are taller than about 50% of children their age — right in the middle.
A child on the 25th percentile for weight is heavier than 25% of children their age. One on the 91st is heavier than 91%.
There is no single "right" percentile. Children come in all shapes and sizes. What matters most is that your child follows a consistent pattern over time, roughly tracking along a centile line.
If you have concerns about your child's growth, speak to your health visitor or GP.
